Nora Landes is an art writer, editor, and researcher : )

I specialize in editing catalog essays, academic & scholarly papers, gallery didactics, museum publications, and other short- and long-form art writing. My writing has taken a variety of forms, from artist bios and articles on art and architecture to press releases and copy for websites, newsletters, and social media. I also have experience cataloging artwork, rare books, ephemera, and archival materials and conducting research in libraries and archives.

As a former communications strategist with both in-house and agency experience, I worked with museums and cultural institutions, mission-driven nonprofits, colleges and universities, and worker-led movements. My clients included the New Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, the Queens Museum, and labor unions representing workers in the arts and entertainment industries, among others.

Previously I’ve held positions at museums in the United States and Italy.

I am currently completing my MA in Art History at CUNY Hunter College (degree expected May 2026) with a research focus on Italian modern architecture and design, especially as it relates to political economy and the history of industrialization.
